Who is Osborne Clarke Brussels looking for?

We are looking to support the growth of the IP/IT & Data team with an associate with three to five years of experience. The perfect candidate will have demonstrated expertise in one of our core areas of expertise (IP/IT) and a willingness to engage with a variety of high-end, complex and rewarding matters in the field. Our clients count on our expertise in a very broad spectrum of matters, ranging from technology and digital regulation to patent and trade secrets litigation, data (privacy), AI and big data, cybersecurity and -resilience, outsourcing and technology transactions, etc. Hence, preference will go to candidates with previous exposure to our key sectors (Tech, Media & Communications, FinTech and Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare ).

We are looking for a team-player willing to find their place in the ensemble. You will have the opportunity to widen your experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters and be exposed to national and international clients in this broad range of IT, IP, Tech & Data matters. You will also have the chance to sharpen your legal skills by specializing over time in your fields of interest. You will be challenged, be in charge of managing your workload and growing your network, meet with innovative clients, and get a sense of what it means to be a sector-focused, future-proof lawyer within a dynamic and international network.

We are looking for someone who:

• has 3 to 5 years of experience in IT and/or IP law within a leading Belgian or international law firm;
• is a true team player, with an international mindset, willing to join a growing team with plenty of opportunities;
• is eager to learn and be innovative and dares to think outside the box;
• is a native Dutch speaker with an excellent command of English and French;
• has a Belgian law degree with excellent academic results. Having an LL.M. qualification in IT/IP law is an asset;
• has good oral and written communication skills.
