Second-line legal assistance

Second-line legal assistance

If you’re looking for:

  • Practical information
  • Legal information
  • Initial legal advice
  • A referral to a lawyer, body or organisation

then go to First-line legal assistance

Second-line legal assistance, entirely or partly free of charge, is legal assistance lawyers provide to those seeking justice by way of:

  • Detailed legal advice
  • Legal assistance and representation, whether or not in the course of a legal procedure

You can receive second-line legal assistance, without an appointment, at the Legal Aid Office on the days and at the times as stated below.

NB, please note: check whether you are eligible first and bring the necessary documents with you, namely family composition attestation and proof of income (proofs must have been issued within the last month). New income limits from 1 September 2016.

Your problem may be too complex for exploratory advice, or you may not qualify for a pro bono lawyer. Go to "Search for a lawyer" to select a lawyer by name, bar and/or preferred areas of law. Always check whether the assistance of a lawyer is covered under your legal assistance policy.
